Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HL06 is a recombinant human monoclonal antibody developed by Hualan Genetic Engineering as a biosimilar to ipilimumab (Yervoy). It functions as an immune checkpoint inhibitor by targeting the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) on the surface of T-cells. By blocking the interaction between CTLA-4 and its ligands (CD80 and CD86) on antigen-presenting cells, HL06 prevents the downregulation of T-cell activity, thereby enhancing the body's immune response against malignant cells. The drug is primarily investigated for the treatment of advanced or metastatic melanoma and is administered via intravenous injection.
