HLA-B siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the Human Leukocyte Antigen B (HLA-B) heavy chain. HLA-B is a component of the HLA class I molecule, which typically presents antigens to cytotoxic T cells. In the context of pancreatic cancer research, HLA-B siRNA has been used as a laboratory tool to investigate the non-immunological roles of HLA class I molecules in tumor cell proliferation and migration. Studies have shown that silencing HLA-B can differentially affect the growth and movement of various pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cell lines, suggesting that HLA-B may contribute to the pathogenesis of certain cancers beyond its role in immune recognition.
