Overview

HLB3-002 is a recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 developed by Huonslab as a high-purity, albumin-free and preservative-free biologic drug product. It is produced using patented technology in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells to express the full-length human enzyme and is designed as an alternative to animal-derived hyaluronidases such as Hylenex (Halozyme Therapeutics). HLB3-002 acts by degrading subcutaneous hyaluronan, thereby increasing tissue permeability and facilitating rapid subcutaneous delivery of co-administered drugs or fluids. Its primary indications include use in cosmetic procedures, dermatology, pain management, edema treatment, and as a platform for converting intravenous medications into self-administered subcutaneous injections. Preclinical studies have demonstrated equivalent efficacy to Hylenex with potentially fewer allergic reactions due to its non-animal origin[1][2][4][5][6][7].
