Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HLBP-013 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) formulation of the dopamine agonist ropinirole, developed using HLB Pharma's proprietary SMEB (Smart Micro-Encapsulation Bio-technology) platform. Designed for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, the SMEB technology utilizes biodegradable polymer microspheres to provide sustained release of the active ingredient over several weeks. This delivery method aims to maintain stable plasma levels of ropinirole, thereby minimizing the 'wearing-off' effect and dyskinesia often associated with the fluctuating drug levels of oral Parkinson's medications. The project is currently in the preclinical and formulation research phase, having transitioned from the pipeline of C-Tri following its acquisition by HLB Pharma.
