Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HLBP-038 is a long-acting injectable formulation of the GLP-1 receptor agonist semaglutide, developed by HLB Pharma for the treatment of obesity and diabetes. The drug utilizes HLB Pharma's proprietary SMEB (Smart Microsphere Emulsion Bead) technology, a sustained-release microsphere platform designed to provide stable drug concentrations over an extended period. This formulation aims to improve patient compliance by reducing the frequency of administration to once a month, compared to the weekly dosing required for standard semaglutide injections. HLBP-038 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
