Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HLK-R042 is a preclinical-stage topical small molecule candidate being developed by Shenzhen Yaoxin Biotechnology (also known as Pharmacin) for the treatment of alopecia areata. The drug is developed using the company's proprietary "Ring-Lock" technology, which is designed to optimize the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of small molecule inhibitors. HLK-R042 is intended for local application to the scalp to inhibit the Janus kinase (JAK) signaling pathway, thereby reducing the autoimmune-mediated inflammation that leads to hair follicle destruction. As of late 2024, the program remains in the preclinical phase of development.
