Overview

HLX23 is a novel, fully human IgG2 monoclonal antibody that targets CD73 (also known as ecto-5'-nucleotidase) on the surface of tumor cells. By binding to CD73, HLX23 inhibits its enzymatic activity, preventing the conversion of extracellular adenosine monophosphate (AMP) to adenosine. This action reduces adenosine-mediated immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment and enhances T cell-mediated antitumor responses. Preclinical studies have shown that HLX23 promotes endocytosis of CD73 and is well tolerated with a favorable safety profile. The drug was independently developed and manufactured by Henlius for potential use in cancer immunotherapy[1][2][3].
