Overview

HM-001 is a small molecule therapeutic based on the Matching Transformation (MA-T) system, developed by HOIST. The MA-T system utilizes sodium chlorite to generate reactive oxygen species (aqueous radicals) specifically within the acidic microenvironment of tumors. This localized activation is intended to exert potent antitumor effects while minimizing systemic toxicity. HM-001 is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1/2 investigator-initiated clinical trial for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) at Osaka University Hospital. It is also in preclinical development for peritoneal carcinomatosis associated with gastrointestinal and gynecological cancers, including colon, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers.
