Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HM12460A (also known as LAPS-Insulin) is a long-acting basal insulin analog developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical using its proprietary LAPSCOVERY (Long-Acting Protein/Peptide Discovery) platform. This technology extends the half-life of the insulin molecule by conjugating it to a human immunoglobulin Fc fragment via a non-peptidyl linker, allowing for once-weekly subcutaneous administration. It is intended for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus by providing sustained glucose-lowering effects and potentially reducing the risk of hypoglycemia compared to daily basal insulins. Development was previously partnered with Sanofi, but rights were returned to Hanmi in late 2016.
