Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HM2002 is an investigational circular RNA-based therapeutic designed as a modulator of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). It is being developed for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, specifically targeting ischemic heart failure and myocardial ischemia. The drug is administered via epicardial injection during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. Its mechanism involves modulation of VEGF signaling pathways to promote angiogenesis and improve cardiac function in patients with ischemic heart conditions. The first-in-human clinical trial is currently in early phase 1 to assess safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in this setting.
