Overview

HM201 is a novel synthetic peptide drug created by improving the bioactive peptide adrenomedullin. It is a PEGylated form of human adrenomedullin designed to enhance stability and pharmacokinetics. Adrenomedullin plays a role in homeostasis through regeneration of epithelial and endothelial cells, angiogenesis, and anti-inflammatory effects. HM201 acts as an agonist at the adrenomedullin receptor (ADMR) and is being developed primarily for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. The drug has completed Phase 1 clinical trials assessing safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects via intravenous administration[1][2][3][5]. Himuka AM Pharma Corp. is developing this agent with the aim of promoting mucosal healing in IBD patients.
