Drug intelligence / Profile preview
hMAb173 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the Axl receptor tyrosine kinase. Developed by VasGene Therapeutics, it has been investigated primarily for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The antibody exerts its anti-tumor effects by binding to Axl, leading to a reduction in Axl protein levels and subsequent inhibition of the PI3K signaling pathway. This results in decreased tumor cell proliferation and the induction of apoptosis. In preclinical models, hMAb173 has demonstrated significant efficacy, including a 78% inhibition of RCC tumor growth in vivo.
