Overview

HMB-002 + concomitant factor concentrate is an investigational combination therapy developed by Hemab Therapeutics for the treatment of Von Willebrand Disease (VWD). HMB-002 is a first-in-class, monovalent human monoclonal antibody designed to bind the C-terminal CK domain of Von Willebrand Factor (VWF). This binding shields VWF from degradation, thereby increasing endogenous levels of both VWF and coagulation Factor VIII (FVIII) without compromising VWF's normal hemostatic function. In the context of the Velora Pioneer clinical trial, HMB-002 is administered subcutaneously and may be used alongside concomitant factor concentrates (such as recombinant VWF or FVIII/VWF complexes) to provide comprehensive hemostatic support. This approach aims to provide a prophylactic treatment option that addresses the underlying protein deficiency in patients with Type 1 and Type 2 VWD.
