Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HMBD-001 is a monoclonal antibody that targets the HER3 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 3) protein, which is overexpressed in certain advanced solid tumors and cancers with NRG1 gene fusions. By binding to a unique epitope on HER3, HMBD-001 blocks dimerization and downstream signaling pathways involved in tumor growth and survival[1][3]. Enzalutamide is an oral androgen receptor inhibitor used primarily for the treatment of prostate cancer; it works by blocking androgen receptors, thereby inhibiting the action of male hormones that stimulate prostate cancer cell growth[4][5][6]. The combination of HMBD-001 and enzalutamide is being investigated in clinical trials for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) with high HER3 expression[1][2][3].
