HMBD-501 is a next-generation antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting the HER3 (ERBB3) receptor. Developed using Hummingbird Bioscience’s proprietary antibody discovery and engineering platform, it features an Fc-engineered anti-HER3 monoclonal antibody conjugated to exatecan, a DNA topoisomerase I inhibitor payload. The ADC binds a novel epitope on HER3 that allows for effective targeting regardless of NRG1 ligand levels, potentially enabling activity in tumors with high ligand expression.
