Overview

HMPL-662 is a small molecule inhibitor of Receptor-Interacting Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase 1 (RIPK1), a protein that plays a critical role in mediating necroptosis (programmed inflammatory cell death) and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Developed by HUTCHMED, the compound was the subject of a licensing agreement with Inmagene Biopharmaceuticals for non-oncology indications, including inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. However, Inmagene terminated its rights to HMPL-662 in April 2023. The drug aims to treat conditions where RIPK1-mediated inflammation and cell death are pathogenic.
