HMPL-958

HMPL-958 is an investigational, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of the Colony Stimulating Factor 1 Receptor (CSF-1R), originally developed by HUTCHMED. CSF-1R is a cell-surface tyrosine kinase receptor that plays a critical role in the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of myeloid lineage cells, including macrophages, monocytes, and microglia. In 2021, HUTCHMED entered into a strategic agreement with Inmagene Biopharmaceuticals, granting them an exclusive option for the worldwide development and commercialization of HMPL-958 for all non-oncology indications. The therapeutic rationale for HMPL-958 in non-oncology settings involves modulating the recruitment and activation of pathogenic macrophages, which are central drivers of chronic inflammation and tissue damage in various immunological and autoimmune diseases.
