Drug intelligence / Profile preview
hMPV Y high dose vaccine is an investigational human metapneumovirus (hMPV) vaccine candidate developed by GSK. It is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine designed to elicit an immune response against the hMPV fusion (F) protein, which is critical for viral entry into host cells. The vaccine was evaluated in a Phase 1/2 clinical trial (NCT04144712) as part of a dose-finding study in younger and older adults. In this trial, the "Y" designation refers to a specific investigational formulation or construct of the hMPV antigen, and "high dose" indicates the highest concentration level tested in the study. The program aims to prevent respiratory tract infections caused by hMPV, a significant pathogen in pediatric, elderly, and immunocompromised populations.
