Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HN01001 is a small molecule potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) developed by Hana Pharm for the treatment of erosive esophagitis. As a P-CAB, HN01001 functions by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase (the proton pump) in a reversible and potassium-competitive manner. Unlike traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which are prodrugs requiring acid activation and form covalent bonds with the pump, P-CABs provide a more rapid onset of action and sustained acid suppression that is independent of food intake or gastric pH. HN01001 is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic profile in healthy volunteers.
