Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ho Chai Kung Tji Thung San is an over-the-counter analgesic and antipyretic powder formulation from Hong Kong, marketed for rapid relief of headache (including migraine), toothache, fever, influenza and pain associated with colds. It is a combination product whose principal Western active ingredients are paracetamol (acetaminophen), which reduces pain and fever mainly through central inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, and caffeine, which provides mild central nervous system stimulation and can enhance analgesic efficacy. The product is typically supplied as single-dose sachets of powder to be dissolved in hot or boiled water and taken orally several times daily as needed.
