Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Holigos IBS is an orally administered medical food developed by Glycom for the dietary management of irritable bowel syndrome. It contains a proprietary blend of the human milk oligosaccharides 2'-fucosyllactose and lacto-N-neotetraose as a prebiotic powder intended to support gut microbiome restoration across IBS subtypes including diarrhea-predominant, constipation-predominant, and mixed IBS. Its proposed mechanism is selective enrichment of beneficial gut bacteria, particularly Bifidobacterium species, with downstream effects on microbiome balance, intestinal barrier support, and reduction of symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea. The original Holigos IBS product has been discontinued and later reformulated into Holigos Advanced Abdominal Support, which adds Bacillus coagulans and therefore is a distinct product.
