Overview

hOMSC200 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy product composed of human oral mucosal stem cells (hOMSCs), developed by Cytora for the treatment of chronic diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). These stem cells are harvested from the lamina propria of the oral mucosa, a tissue known for its rapid healing properties and neural crest origin. hOMSC200 is designed to address the complex pathology of chronic wounds by promoting angiogenesis, modulating the inflammatory response, and stimulating tissue regeneration. The cells are administered locally to the ulcer site, where they secrete a variety of trophic factors and cytokines that facilitate the transition of the wound from a chronic, non-healing state to an active healing phase. The product is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2a clinical trials to assess its safety and efficacy in patients who have failed standard wound care treatments.
