Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination of two traditional herbal ingredients commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): honeysuckle and rattan. Honeysuckle (Lonicera species, often Lonicera japonica) is known for its anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and purported antiviral properties. It contains organic acids such as chlorogenic acid and flavonoids like quercetin, which may contribute to its effects[1][2][3]. Rattan refers to the stems of climbing palms from the subfamily Calamoideae; in TCM, "rattan" often denotes herbs like Spatholobus suberectus or Uncaria rhynchophylla ("Gou Teng"), which are used for their anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties. The combination is typically used in TCM formulations aimed at clearing "heat," reducing inflammation, or treating infections. There is limited high-quality clinical evidence supporting these uses.
