Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hong Jing Qi Wei Formula, also known as Jing Qi Formula or Jing Qi Pian, is a traditional Chinese herbal combination designed to address energy deficiency and symptoms associated with stress, overwork, or excessive sexual activity. It is indicated for conditions such as fatigue, weakness, poor digestion, insomnia, nervous exhaustion, night sweats, low appetite and libido. The formula is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles and aims to nourish kidney and liver yin (essence), tonify spleen qi (vital energy), regulate liver qi (energy flow), and support overall vitality. Its mechanism of action involves replenishing kidney yin and augmenting spleen qi while gently regulating liver qi. The formula contains multiple herbs including Ligustrum lucidum fruit (Nu Zhen Zi), Eclipta alba herb (Han Lian Cao), Dioscorea opposita rhizome (Shan Yao), Codonopsis pilosula root (Dang Shen), Poria cocos fungus (Fu Ling), Atractylodes macrocephala rhizome (Bai Zhu), Lycium barbarum fruit (Gou Qi Zi/Wolfberry/Goji berry), Schisandra chinensis fruit (Wu Wei Zi) among others[1][2][8]. It does not have a single defined molecular target but works through the synergistic effects of its botanical components according to TCM theory.
