Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Honghua Injection (Safflower Injection) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) parenteral therapy derived from the water extract of *Carthamus tinctorius L.* (safflower). Developed and marketed by Zhendong Anxin, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, cerebral infarction, and cerebral circulation insufficiency. Its pharmacological profile involves promoting blood circulation, resolving blood stasis, improving microcirculation, and exerting anti-myocardial ischemic and anticoagulant effects. The injection contains a complex mixture of bioactive compounds, notably flavonoids such as quinochalcones (e.g., hydroxysafflor yellow A), which contribute to its multi-target therapeutic action by reducing blood viscosity and inducing vasodilation.
