Overview
Honghua Xiaoyao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) botanical formulation used for the treatment of gynecological disorders, specifically premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and menstrual irregularities. It is a derivative of the classic Xiaoyao San formula, enriched with *Carthamus tinctorius* (Honghua) to enhance its blood-circulating and stasis-resolving properties. The formulation typically includes herbs such as *Angelica sinensis*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, and *Bupleurum chinense*. It is primarily indicated for Liver Qi stagnation and Blood deficiency in TCM diagnostics, which clinically manifests as emotional instability, breast tenderness, and abdominal pain associated with the menstrual cycle.
