Overview
Hongzhu Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed and manufactured by Guangdong Global Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic bronchitis and associated respiratory symptoms such as cough and excessive phlegm. The formulation consists of an extract derived from the herb *Ilex rotunda* (Rotunda Holly), which is recognized in TCM for its heat-clearing, detoxifying, and anti-inflammatory properties. Pharmacologically, the active constituents, including triterpenoids and flavonoids, function as antitussive and expectorant agents. They work by reducing airway inflammation and facilitating the clearance of mucus from the respiratory tract. The drug is approved for marketing in China and is commonly utilized in clinical practice for managing chronic inflammatory conditions of the lungs.
