Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Honokiol liposome for injection (JRF101) is an innovative liposomal formulation of honokiol, a natural biphenyl compound extracted from Magnolia officinalis. Developed by Jinrui Foundation Biotech, it is designed to improve the solubility, bioavailability, and tumor-targeting capability of honokiol. The drug acts as a direct inhibitor of the oncogenic transcription factor Forkhead box protein M1 (FOXM1), disrupting its transcriptional activity and downregulating its expression. This leads to the suppression of tumor cell proliferation, migration, and survival, and helps overcome resistance to chemotherapy and targeted therapies. JRF101 is currently in Phase II clinical trials for glioblastoma and Phase I trials for other advanced malignant solid tumors, and has received Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA.
