HOTAIR siRNA is a research-grade small interfering RNA (siRNA) tool designed to silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) known as HOX transcript antisense RNA (HOTAIR). HOTAIR is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, where it acts as a scaffold for chromatin-modifying complexes like PRC2 and LSD1, promoting epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), metastasis, and drug resistance. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, HOTAIR siRNA targets HOTAIR transcripts for degradation, thereby inhibiting cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion while inducing apoptosis. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that silencing HOTAIR can enhance the chemosensitivity of cancer cells to agents such as cisplatin, doxorubicin, and EGFR-TKIs. Currently, HOTAIR siRNA is utilized primarily as a laboratory reagent for oncology research and is not an approved therapeutic drug.
