house dust mite allergen extract (dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and dermatophagoides farinae)

STAGR320 is a sublingual allergen immunotherapy (AIT) tablet developed by Stallergenes Greer for the treatment of house dust mite (HDM)-induced allergic rhinitis, with or without intermittent asthma. [2, 5] The drug is a biologic immunotherapy that contains a 50:50 mixture of standardized allergen extracts from two species of house dust mites, *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*, as its active ingredient. [1] Administered as a daily sublingual tablet, it works by modifying the underlying immune response to the allergens, intending to increase immunological tolerance and thereby reduce symptoms. [1, 3, 5] A large Phase III clinical trial involving over 1,600 patients demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in allergic rhinitis symptoms compared to placebo. [5, 11] The drug is registered and marketed under the brand name Actair in countries including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea, and as Orylmyte or Aitmyte in some European countries. [5, 10, 12, 13]
