house dust mite allergen extract (Stallergenes Greer)

Staloral 300 acari is a standardized aqueous sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) solution developed by Stallergenes Greer. It contains a 1:1 mixture of allergen extracts from the house dust mites *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*, standardized to a concentration of 300 Index of Reactivity (IR). The therapy is indicated for the treatment of house dust mite-induced allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma (including extrinsic/allergic asthma). It works by modulating the immune system to induce allergen-specific tolerance, specifically by reducing the production of allergen-specific IgE and shifting the immune response away from a Th2-mediated allergic profile toward a regulatory T-cell response. It is administered sublingually via a minipump-predosed actuator, allowing for convenient at-home administration.
