House dust mite allergen sublingual immunotherapy is an allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) product developed by ARTU Biologicals Europe BV. It consists of allergen extracts derived from the house dust mites *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*. Administered sublingually, the drug aims to desensitize the immune system to house dust mite (HDM) allergens, thereby reducing symptoms of allergic rhinitis and associated asthma. The product works by modulating the T-cell response, shifting the immune profile from a Th2-mediated allergic response toward a regulatory T-cell (Treg) and Th1-mediated profile, which reduces IgE-mediated allergic inflammation. It has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials, specifically in children aged 6–18 years in primary care settings in the Netherlands.
