HOV-12020

HOV-12020 is a palm tocotrienols complex developed as a therapeutic agent primarily for neurological and cardiovascular conditions. Tocotrienols are members of the vitamin E family, distinguished from tocopherols by their unsaturated side chains, and are known for their antioxidant properties. HOV-12020 has been investigated in clinical trials for its potential to attenuate disease progression in cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL), a hereditary small vessel disease that leads to stroke, cognitive decline, and motor disability. Preclinical studies have also suggested neuroprotective effects relevant to Parkinson’s disease.
