Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HOWARU Protect Kids is a proprietary probiotic formulation designed to support immune health in children. It consists of a specific combination of two clinically studied strains: *Lactobacillus acidophilus* NCFM and *Bifidobacterium animalis* subsp. *lactis* Bi-07. The product is primarily used to reduce the incidence and duration of cold and flu symptoms, such as fever, cough, and rhinorrhea, in pediatric populations. Developed by IFF (formerly DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences), the mechanism of action involves the modulation of the intestinal microbiota and the enhancement of the host's innate and adaptive immune responses. Clinical studies have demonstrated that regular consumption of this probiotic blend can significantly decrease the number of sick days and the need for antibiotic prescriptions in children during the winter season.
