HOXD10 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the Homeobox D10 (HOXD10) gene. HOXD10 is a transcription factor that plays a critical role in embryonic development and cellular differentiation. In the context of oncology, HOXD10 is frequently characterized as a tumor suppressor, particularly in breast cancer, where its downregulation (often mediated by microRNAs like miR-10b) is associated with increased cell migration, invasion, and metastasis. Consequently, HOXD10 siRNA is primarily utilized as a research tool in laboratory settings to investigate the functional consequences of HOXD10 loss-of-function, allowing researchers to delineate its regulatory pathways and its impact on the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
