Overview

HP-2001 is a recombinant protein subunit vaccine candidate developed by Huapu Biotechnology for the prevention of Herpes Zoster (shingles). The vaccine is formulated with Huapu's proprietary CpG adjuvant, HP007, which is a synthetic oligonucleotide that acts as a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist. This adjuvant system is designed to activate innate immunity and specifically induce a potent Th1-type adaptive immune response, which is essential for providing protection against the reactivation of the Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV). HP-2001 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China.
