Overview

HP-233 is a preclinical small molecule activator of Insulin Receptor Substrate 2 (IRS-2) developed by Housey Pharmaceutical Research Laboratories. It is being investigated for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes. IRS-2 is a critical adapter protein in the insulin signaling pathway, mediating the metabolic and growth-promoting effects of insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). By activating IRS-2, HP-233 aims to enhance insulin sensitivity and improve glucose homeostasis, potentially addressing the underlying insulin resistance that characterizes Type 2 Diabetes.
