HP-802-247 is a cell-based combination product designed for the treatment of chronic wounds, particularly venous leg ulcers. It consists of a fibrinogen solution and a cell preparation containing allogeneic, non-proliferating, living human keratinocytes and fibroblasts delivered in a fibrin matrix by spray application. The mechanism of action involves the release of various growth and angiogenic factors from these metabolically active cells into the wound microenvironment, which stimulates the patient’s own cells to promote healing. Developed as an advanced tissue engineering therapy, it was evaluated in multiple clinical trials for efficacy and safety in chronic venous leg ulcers.
