HP007 is an investigational synthetic CpG oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) that functions as a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist. Developed by Huapu Biotech, it is designed to activate the innate immune system by mimicking the unmethylated CpG motifs found in bacterial and viral DNA. Upon binding to TLR9, primarily located in plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and B cells, HP007 triggers the production of Type I interferons and other pro-inflammatory cytokines. This process enhances the maturation of antigen-presenting cells and promotes a robust Th1-biased T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immune response. HP007 is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, often administered via intratumoral injection to stimulate both local and systemic (abscopal) immune effects, frequently in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors.
