Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HPB-001 is an AI-designed, small-molecule proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) being developed by Hangzhou Polymed Biopharmaceuticals (also known as Hangzhou Multi-Domain Biotechnology) for the treatment of cancer, specifically non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It is designed to target and degrade the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), with a particular focus on oncogenic driver mutations such as EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations. Due to the unique allosteric structure of these targets, they are often resistant or poorly responsive to conventional small-molecule kinase inhibitors. By utilizing targeted protein degradation (TPD) via the ubiquitin-proteasome system, HPB-001 aims to overcome these resistance mechanisms and completely shut down downstream oncogenic signaling. The drug is currently in preclinical development.
