Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HPB-002 is a preclinical-stage proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) designed to target and degrade interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 4 (IRAK4) for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Developed by Polymed Biopharmaceuticals (also known as Hangzhou Multi-Domain Biotechnology), HPB-002 is engineered to address the dual functions of IRAK4, which acts both as an active protein kinase and as a structural scaffold for signal transduction complex assembly in the MyD88/IL-1R pathway. By completely degrading the target protein rather than merely inhibiting its kinase activity, HPB-002 aims to overcome the limitations of traditional small-molecule kinase inhibitors and achieve superior therapeutic efficacy in inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.
