Overview

HPC1 (Highly Purified Cannabinoid) is a cannabinoid-based pharmaceutical formulation being developed by Raphael Pharma for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and associated chronic pain. It is a small molecule extract derived from specific cannabis strains that contain high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) and negligible tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentrations (less than 0.3%). The formulation is designed to interact with the human endocannabinoid system by activating cannabinoid receptors expressed on immune cells, thereby modulating inflammatory pathways and reducing joint inflammation. HPC1 has successfully completed a proof-of-concept clinical trial in collaboration with the Medical Cannabis Research and Innovation Center (MCRIC) at Rambam Health Care Campus.
