Overview

HPDC-T cells is an autologous cell therapy product consisting of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and T cells, developed by the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University. The dendritic cells are activated ex vivo using a Hepatitis B vaccine to enhance their ability to present HBV-specific antigens. This therapeutic approach is designed to restore the defective HBV-specific immune response in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB), specifically by inducing the proliferation and activation of HBV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and T helper cells (HTLs). In clinical settings, HPDC-T cells are often evaluated as an adjunctive therapy combined with standard antiviral agents like entecavir, interferon-alpha-2a, or telbivudine to improve viral clearance in patients who show a suboptimal response to conventional treatments.
