Overview

This is a combination therapy approach that utilizes HPDC-T cells (Human Peripheral Dendritic Cells-derived T cells) together with interferon alfa-2a. Interferon alfa-2a is a type I interferon that binds to interferon receptors (IFNAR1 and IFNAR2c), activating Janus kinase tyrosines (Jak1 and Tyk2) which then phosphorylate themselves and the receptors. This leads to binding of Stat1 and Stat2, which dimerize and activate multiple immunomodulatory and antiviral proteins. The therapy appears to be investigated for treatment of various cancers, particularly cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, where interferon alfa-2a has shown efficacy in combination treatments.
