HPDC-T cells + entecavir is an investigational combination therapy consisting of two components: - **HPDC-T cells** (Hepatitis B virus-specific dendritic cell-activated T cells): These are autologous or allogeneic T lymphocytes that have been activated and expanded ex vivo using hepatitis B virus (HBV) antigens presented by dendritic cells. The goal is to enhance the patient’s immune response against HBV-infected hepatocytes through adoptive cell transfer, representing a form of personalized immunotherapy. - **Entecavir**: A potent oral guanosine nucleoside analogue antiviral drug used for chronic hepatitis B infection. Entecavir selectively inhibits HBV polymerase (reverse transcriptase), blocking viral DNA synthesis at multiple steps[3][5][6]. The rationale for this combination is to pair direct antiviral suppression of HBV replication by entecavir with immune-mediated clearance of infected hepatocytes via HPDC-T cell therapy. This approach aims to achieve deeper and more sustained reductions in viral load and surface antigen levels than either modality alone.
