Drug intelligence / Profile preview
hPLTs-03 is an ex vivo manufactured platelet cell therapy derived from hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), developed by HemaCell Therapeutics (Xue Ji Bio). It is specifically designed as an AB-type platelet product for the treatment of thrombocytopenia. The production process involves the differentiation of HSPCs into megakaryocytes, which then undergo proplatelet formation and abscission to release functional platelets. As an AB-type product, it serves as a universal plasma-compatible platelet source. The therapy aims to address the limitations of donor-derived platelet transfusions, such as supply shortages, short shelf life, and risk of pathogen transmission.
