Overview

HPP404 is an investigational small molecule drug that acts as a selective antagonist of the histamine H3 receptor. It was developed for the treatment of obesity and overweight by modulating central nervous system pathways involved in appetite and weight regulation. The drug was originally developed by Novo Nordisk and later pursued by High Point Pharmaceuticals (also referenced as vTvx Holdings II LLC/vTv Therapeutics). Its primary mechanism is antagonism of the histamine H3 receptor, which is believed to influence food intake and energy expenditure. Clinical development reached Phase 2 trials for weight loss in overweight or obese subjects but was ultimately terminated/discontinued before approval[1][2][3][4].
