Overview

HPV-CTLs is an investigational adoptive cell therapy developed by the Shenzhen Geno-Immune Medical Institute for the treatment of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection. The therapy consists of autologous or allogeneic cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that are specifically expanded and activated to target cells infected with high-risk HPV types, such as HPV 16, 18, 31, and 45. These high-risk strains are primary drivers of cervical cancer and other anogenital malignancies. By intravenously infusing these HPV-specific CTLs, the treatment aims to selectively eliminate virus-infected cells, thereby reducing viral load and preventing disease progression. This approach is being studied as a potentially more effective and less invasive alternative to conventional treatments like surgery or cryotherapy.
