A **personalized cellular immunotherapy** consisting of **autologous dendritic cells (DC)** derived from a patient's peripheral blood, ex vivo loaded (pulsed) with recombinant human papillomavirus (HPV) E7 oncoprotein (typically from HPV16 and/or HPV18 genotypes), and then administered as a therapeutic vaccine to stimulate antigen-specific cytotoxic and helper T-cell responses against HPV-infected tumor cells. The approach targets the immune system to specifically recognize and eliminate cervical cancer cells expressing the HPV E7 oncogene. Administration has shown to be safe and immunogenic, primarily inducing CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses, with delayed-type hypersensitivity observed in treated patients. The vaccine is investigational, under development primarily for cervical cancer at high risk of recurrence following surgery[1][3].
