Overview

HPV-NIRD1 is an experimental diagnostic and therapeutic candidate consisting of a human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) E6 peptide vaccine conjugated to a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dye. Developed by the Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) in collaboration with Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), the agent is designed to enable real-time tracking of vaccine pharmacokinetics and lymphatic drainage following subcutaneous administration. By utilizing fluorescence imaging, researchers can monitor the distribution of the E6 peptide, which is a key oncogenic protein in HPV-16-related cancers. This theranostic approach aims to optimize vaccine delivery and understand the spatial-temporal dynamics of peptide-based immunotherapies.
